Shri Manish Kumar, Message

Shri Manish Kumar, IAAS, is presently serving as Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General (Local Governance Audit) at the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Rajkot, Gujarat. A graduate in Economics and a Certified Internal Auditor, he hails from Bihar and has a distinguished career of nearly 33 years in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.

In his current role, he oversees policy formulation, guidance, and support for audits of Local Governments and contributes to strengthening accounting, internal control and audit frameworks in Urban and Rural Local Bodies. The Local Governance Audit Wing under his leadership also finalises Local Governance Audit Reports and Annual Technical Inspection Reports (ATIRs).

Over the years, Shri Kumar has served in key positions related to accounts, audit, administration and capacity building across several offices of CAG of India at Prayagraj, Meerut, Patna, Ranchi, New Delhi, Shimla. He has held deputation assignments with NDMC and DDA in New Delhi. He has also represented the Department in various international audit assignments of UN,FAO, UNWTO, WIPO and various committees of INTOSAI in
countries including the USA, Philippines, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand, Spain, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, and Israel.
